This happens in all aspects of life, your social groups, work environments and spiritual groups. Right now, its happening in my work environment. A few years ago, it happened in a social group I was involved with.
Trust me, be authentic, be genuine, be honest and compassionate, be yourself and your hater can't help but be him or her self and show it to everyone around.
They will support and balance you when you need it and they will give you a kick in the pants when you need that too. They will also keep you from making stupid political mistakes or saying the wrong things in response to those haters.
No matter how many allies you take with you on the road to success the haters will still be there. Don't waste time wondering why they don't like you. Its not worth the effort. Simply put, they hate you because they want to be you or because they want something you have, they are jealous. So hold your head up high and ignore them, keep doing the right thing.
If you have haters, its because you have shared your opinions or beliefs and have made an impact somewhere, they want that kind of power. Its a good sign that you might be doing something right, especially when the majority of people you speak to tell you that you have been an inspiration to them in some way or another.
On the other hand, don't discount what the hater has to say. They may have valid criticisms. Ask your team if they can objectively help you evaluate those criticisms. If there is value in working on some of those issues and perceptions, address them and wait to see what the hater goes after next. If they continue to pick at every small thing you do, they probably aren't worth listening to. If they stop complaining, they may have just had some valid, but loud, complaints and concerns.
Chin up, deep breath, you can do this.
